About me

"No problem can ever be solved by the same consciousness that created it.”
Albert Einstein
I was born in London in 1958, I was educated, lived and worked there until 2000. Having worked in the City of London for over 20 years, I felt that I needed a radical change of life - the children were grown and no longer dependent on me. I had come to know the Alexander Technique many years before when I bought a ‘difficult’ horse (maltreated in his youth, humans where simply predators) and it was during my efforts to try to understand this animal that I discovered the technique through a friend. I always remember my first lesson - and it was my first lesson - not his- when I was told ‘Your horse is not being difficult, you simply do not understand him” I learnt that anything you want to learn or create with your horse, you must first learn or create in yourself. The adventure started there. My love of the countryside, horses and 'other animals' would have been satisfied in England, but when my mother retired to this part of France, I, like her, felt a special bond to this part of the world. I have now lived here with my various animals for 17 years, am married to a local and have become a Professor of the Alexander Technique myself. It really is a lovely part of the world and I will be happy to make it special for you too!
